A former Dutch consular-official, named Salomonson, is creating considerable interest in Paris by his peculiar appearance and actions. He poses as the prophet of the Simple Life and is making propaganda for a new sect, called Meva. He walks in the streets in a white monk’s habit, wears his hair and beard long and lives on raw fruit, vegetables and nuts. He does not even drink beer.
